**UPDATE: The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Church house on 4100s Bangerter building. The viewing the night before will be at Valley View (the one by Winder Dairy). You can view his obituary here.

I just wanted to let you know that Brian Carlson's Dad passed away early this morning. He had heart surgery last week, and has had health problems since I was a kid. I know this must be hard for Brian and his family. Please add them to your prayers. I will update with the arrangements when I hear.

I know I didn't make it to the 10 year, but I'm stoked to find this blog, and even more stoked for the 15 year reunioun! Wow. We're getting old!!! To sum it up, after high school, I refused to take life seriously! Life was a raging party for about 3 years! I enrolled at SLCC, where I received my AS. Somehow, in between several treks accross the country, and up and down each coast, I eventually managed to graduate from the University of Utah, with a BS in English Lit. (I'd love to have the energy now that I did then!)

When I was ready to calm down, I moved to Southern Utah. Hurricane, actually, which is a small farm community just North of St. George. It was here that I got married, and had my 2 BEAUTIFUL kids, Dylan (7) and Brooklyn (5). I don't know about you guys, but my Mother always taught me that the first marriage is just for practice ;) I married my Soulmate, Brandon in June of '05, and was blessed with Triston (6), my "bonus" child.

For about 5 years I was a Designer for a company in St. George. I freelance now, out of my home, but I find myself busier than ever with ballet lessons, karate, birthday parties, and volunteering at the kids' school. In my spare time (ya right) I love reading, writing, camping, hunting, fishing, pretty much anything that ends with "ing". I'd love to hear from old friends, so if you have any more questions, just email!!

Hey Granger!

I haven't been back since High School and honestly, it was really fun...not to mention a great family activity. Here are a few pictures from the game. Hopefully everyone can mark the date for next year. It would be great for all old-fogie-97'ers to dominate the crowd (and get cheap food and entertainment).

Just a reminder that Granger's Homecoming is on Friday, September 12th. I believe the football game starts at 7:00 pm.

This was in the West Valley Journal newspaper:

"An alumni association for Granger High School has been established effective immediately... The Association will officially launch at this year's Homecoming celebration Friday Sept. 12th by hosting an Alumni Tailgate Party from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at the Granger Park pavilion before the football game. I just got married to the most wonderful guy around, Kipp Sorensen. I am beyond lucky and blessed and I am so happy for myself and my new family... I have inherited 2 great little boys too, Brenden and Ian! They are wonderful, little men with sweet spirits and rascal tendencies (A perfect match for Keawe) :) How great is it that I get to continue my fantastic life with a fantastic partner, friend and lover?!

God continues to bless me and I am eternally grateful. I hope everyone is as in love with their spouse as they were on their wedding day; It is a beautiful and powerful feeling and the one and only base for a loving, happy family. Hey all, I just ran into a fellow class mate who told me about this blog. I’ve been in the army for the last almost eleven years. I first did time as a reservist for the army up at the 328th CSH at Fort Douglas(sp?). Then I went on a mission to Tijuana Mexico. After my mission I did some time at SLCC got an associates and then went on active duty. I am currently in my fourth year doing some school provided for by them. My condolences to the families of those recently passed.

Samuel Joseph Hennessy was born on Thursday, March 13th at 12:44 pm. He is the sweetest baby ever! We love him so much!!

He weighed 8 lbs. 4 oz. and was 21 inches long! We got to take him home on Sunday, March 16th and he was officially ours on March 18th when his birth mother, Leanna signed the papers.

We finally have our little son! Taylor and I are so happy!

Scott Pearson Fires It Up!

I headed to Snow College for a year and found out that it really wasn't for me, however during that time I started to work as an EMT on their volunteer ambulance. I was also set up on a blind date, with a girl named Melanie, we really hit it off and dated for almost a year before we got married in Feb '99. During the summer after college I got a job with Gold Cross Ambulance in Salt Lake and really started to love that. We bought a house in Layton, where my wife is from, I got enrolled in Paramedic School sponsored by Gold Cross.

We found out we were going to have a baby who ended up being a little girl we named Makayla in June '01. I got a part-time job with the Layton Fire Department in March '02-I'm still there. About three years later we had another little girl, Alyssa, in November '04. After 6 1/2 years with Gold Cross I got a Full-time job with West Valley Fire Department in July '05-so I'm right back where I started. In April we had our newest addition a boy, Matthew, and we moved both in the same week! Now we live on the "west-side" of Layton-they don't have a clue how to do it up here! That's me in a nutshell.

Jared Cornwall Moves to Seattle!

Here's a brief summary of the past 10 years of my life: I slowly made my way through SLCC when I was not too busy snowboarding or Scuba diving. The diving has turned me into a world traveler. I finally got serious about school and ended up graduating from the U of U in Graphic Design. After graduating I moved to Sacramento to chase down a woman. Her name is Nicole, we have been dating for almost 6 years and recently got engaged. Sacramento was fine but... actually, I don't like Sacramento much. Luckily the company I am working for just moved me to the Seattle area. I really like it here.

Dear Lancers,

I wanted to tell each of you reading this how my experience with the reunion picnic was. I regret my wife and I were unable to attend the dance and I wanted to be there so much but we had family obligations to attend to. I would like to say that being at the picnic was a little bit of heaven for me. I mean this with all my heart because I experienced joy at being there and being with those who I grew up with going to school. There was no other place I wanted to be at the moment. It was a pleasure to see so many familiar faces and to see so many of you had been doing well with your lives, families and careers. It was good to hear of your experiences since we last met and to know you are well. I was also pleased to hear from those who may have had a rough time since graduation yet were striving to get themselves back on their feet. Prayers are answered. When we left the picnic and saw others leaving I was sad because I knew, for many of us, it would be a long time before we would meet again. I know all of us will meet again someday. I look forward to that time and hope all of you choose to make the best of your lives.

I would like to fill in the large gaps I left behind in my first submission to the blog. Here it goes:

After graduation I went to work in construction with my uncle at the Flying J refinery and at Alliantech (used to be Bacchus and Hercules). There I had it easy in school. The winter of 1999-2000 I submitted paperwork to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Soon I received a call to serve in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Mission. I left in the spring of 1998. During the mission I served in Aston, PA; Harrington, Delaware; Pottsville, PA ; West Philadelphia and Roslyn, PA Areas. The experience was life changing, though I regret, I could have been much better prepared for such an undertaking and would have served others far better had I done so. After coming home in the spring of 2000 I went to college at SLCC. I spent a semester in the engineering program and then changed my major to business management and did that for a semester. I also attended the Institute at SLCC. While attending college, I had many good and not so good experiences. I put college on hold in January of 2001 and went to work at a cabinet mill for three months, which was a terribly monotonous and dangerous job( yes, I still have all my fingers). In March I took a job as an apprentice in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration trade. Before I accepted the job, my uncle, who apprised me of the job, told me all about it. He said,"you will be dealing with high pressure gases, deep vacuums,toxic chemicals, caustic chemicals, explosive gases, asphyxiating gases, extreme noise, hot and cold working conditions, cramped spaces, ladders and extreme heights, high voltage electricity and you will get paid well after getting experience.” So I said,"sounds like an adventure to me, where do I sign up?” There are days I wish I had never signed up but I cannot complain that this job has been an adventure in many ways and has kept me in good shape. It was also during this time I decided to attend the Singles Ward and it was there I met my future wife, Chreslie.

Up to that point my dating life after high school had been one frustration after another. I was to a point where I was about ready to give up all together, at least for a long time and just go back to college. While at the singles ward I dated a couple of other girls without any success, during which time I was friends with Chreslie. In June, I decided to take Chreslie out and it was all over from there. I proposed marriage in July and we were married in the Salt Lake Temple on November 1st, 2001. Our weddingday was perfect. We stayed in an apartment in Kearns for a year and then we stayed at her parents home to house sit for them while they served a mission in Chattanooga, TN. During that time we had our first child, Alexandria. I was continuing to work with the same company up until they laid me off in the fall of 2004 while wewere expecting our next two children. I spent the next six weeks trying to find a job in the same trade but with no success. I did find a job after the Holidays at another outfit that did the same thing as my last job, except my job position was that of parts and warehouse manager. Basically I got to sit at a desk and order parts for the technicians and keep the warehouse clean and organized and take care of shipping and receiving. In March we had our next two children, Hyrum and Hannah. The Following August we moved to Tooele to rent a home from my Brother and Sister in-law for a year.The parts manager job did not pay well and I finally got laid off in February of 2006, while expecting our fourth child. I got a job with the same Uncle I worked for after high school working at the Flying J and Chevron oil refineries doing more hard labor for six more months.

Initially they started me out working with the electricians then they moved me onto the carpenters crew building and setting form work and pouring and finishing concrete. In August my Brother and sister-in- law decided to move back into their home in Tooele and so we had to move back with my wife's parents. I also decided to get back into the HVACR trade since I had over three and a half years of my time invested in it. I found a job with a small residential HVAC company in West Valley that made every effort to teach me how tolie to and cheat customers at every opportunity (I don't think the company exists any more). After three months of the boss yelling at me and unfulfilled promises of job training and benefits and working long hours for little pay, I finally quit and finished getting the certification I needed to make me marketable as an HVAC technician. I found a job two weeks after quitting up in the Ogden area and have been employed there ever since. I am reasonably happy at my current job. We are still living in West Valley City with my In-Laws and are working to get out of medical debt(kids are really expensive to have). We hope to be homeowners in the next couple of years. Eventually, I hope to be able to go back to college and learn how to do something that doesn't require so much wear and tear on my body. I look back and have many regrets about how I treated others and myself yet I know I can look forward, with the wisdom I have gained from the “School of hardknocks”, and have hope for a better, happier future for myself and my family.

Where You Two Met: Brandon and I met at Ricks College in January 1999. He was my Family Home Evening brother. We would go swing dancing and rock climbing together. He finally asked me out and we have been inseperable since. During college I studied voice and violin. After I graduated from Ricks, he moved to Salt Lake to work with me for the summer, and we got married on August 21st, 1999. We went back to Rexburg for a year to finish his shooling, and then spent the next 4 years in Provo while he went to school at BYU and I worked for a dental software company. We had 2 kids during that time, and then Brandon landed a job in Seattle with Boeing as a manufacturing engineer. We have lived in the Seattle area for nearly 3 years now. We just celebrated our 8th anniversary, and we're expecting our 3rd baby in December.

Our oldest child is Owen. He is four and will be 5 in March. Sadie will be 3 next month. "Feed Dog", as our kids have christened the baby, is due in December, and we have decided to be surprised regarding the gender. I am a stay-at-home mom (ie house slave, ha ha), which I love. I'm still not tired of wearing pjs all day. Just kidding. I am the Primary President in my ward at church. I crave creativity, Cold Stone ice cream, and a full night's sleep. My greatest accomplishment (lately) is potty-training my daughter. I love living in Renton (20 minutes south of Seattle) - there is never a shortage of things to do and places to go. I miss being close to family and friends, but life has never been better.

My favorite memories from high school are being in Madrigals, Jeannie Nelson, best friends Julianne and Becca (love you!), "Drama for Your Llama", Nick Nielsen's belly bagel, wearing pjs and curlers to school, yelling at Ms. Woodward, musicals and plays, water aerobics, playing jokes on Mr. Crooks, getting soaked at football games, Mr. Riley reading to us from the tabloids durig trig, sleeping in nearly every class I took, etc...

I refuse to share my most embarrassing moments since high school, as there have been too many, but I will share that what I am most proud of since then is marrying my hot man who makes beautiful children. I love my family!!

I totally missed the reunion because of less-than-desirable travel circumstances, but I miss you all and hope you had an awesome time!

Matt Hood--Lovin' Life!

What is up Granger?! Reunion was good; it was great to see people I haven’t seen for a while. Good work guys. Its funny how over 10 years either people change a lot, or not at all! Anyways, a quick history… After graduating from beloved Granger High, I went to Snow for a semester before leaving on a mission to Bolivia, Cochabamba. That was awesome. Came home, messed around, dated, went to school and then I met might beautiful wife! Liz and I met in January of 2001 in Park City. She went to Copper Hills and was on the dance team. We were married in the Salt Lake Temple in July of the same year. I continued school at SLCC and then went to the U, Go Utes! We have 3 beautiful girls: Makenna (4), Hannah (2), and Alexa (3 weeks). All girls, all the time!

I am a sales rep for Lake City International. I’ve been there for 4 years, I absolutely love it. Liz stays home battling the girls. We live in Riverton, we built our home about 10 months ago. We love it out there.

We love boating, camping, traveling and being with our kids. We’ve been to the Bahamas, Cancun, Alaska and other places, but we definitely prefer Lake Powell to anything. In 2005, in my spare time, I played on a local arena league football team for a season. It was fun, but the risk isn’t worth it.

I am happy to share with everyone an update on my life. Brett and I were married back in 2005 and just celebrated our two-year anniversary. As you may recall we met when I was a senior in high school and dated on and off for a while and then 4 years ago we decided to move into together and the rest is history. We live in West Jordan, UT where we built our home. We love to work in the yard and entertain friends with BBQ's and poker tournaments. We are big Jazz fans, love to play Texas Holdem, and enjoy traveling (especially cruising). I work at CompHealth and have been there for three years. I am on the Surgery team, where I recruit physicians for hospitals. As for children... Brett and I are trying, but in the meantime, our dog Tacoma keeps us busy.

Here is the down-low on the fun activities planned for our 10-year reunion being held this Saturday, August 18th. First off we need RSVP's from EVERYONE, even if you are planning to pay at the door. Email your RSVP to Aja at ajakayser@hotmail.com ASAP.

The Day Activity will be held at the West Valley City Park on 3500 South and 4500 West from 11:00am-1:00pm (cost: $5 per family). Please bring your own picnic and a yummy dessert to share! We have a fun-filled afternoon planned for the entire family with events including: an inflatable water slide for the kiddies (be sure they bring their swimsuits and sunscreen), face painting, a bean bag toss, a relay race, a pinata, 3-legged races, a balloon toss, a chocolate eating contest, a carry your own husband contest, and a wheelbarrow your wife contest. There will be a photographer at the park to take family pictures (cost: approximately $10-$20 depending on size--be sure to bring cash or check for this). Also, a fabulous Reunion Yearbook will be available for purchase (cost:$8) during the day activity and the evening event.

The Evening Event will be held in Stonehenge (the Granger High Cafeteria) from 7:00-10:00pm (cost: $25 per person at the door, unless you've already paid). We will be having a good ol' fashion homecoming prom (attire: cocktail dress, Sunday best, gowns, tuxes, or ties) so look your best! Dinner will no longer be served, but a lavish dessert and fruit bar will be available throughout the evening. There will also be a memorabilia table and a silent auction table (please bring your old photo albums of candid moments, old school head shots, or dance pictures to display and any items you'd like to be auctioned off). All proceeds from the auction will go towards our next reunion. A photographer will also available to take "prom" pictures throughout the evening (cost: $10-$20 depending on size--again be sure to bring cash or check for this). Your picture will be given to you right then and there. There will also be a fun show showcasing talents from our fellow classmates, a slide show of our old school photos and the recent photos posted to the blog....and of course, dancing to groovy 90's music all night long!!

Amy (Pinkerton) Petrie Hopes to Adopt!

After graduation I enrolled in the UCC BIG mistake. I studied sports medicine, I completed the course but never finished the internship. After that I needed to bring in some money so I just started working at ZCMI, turned out to work there a little longer than I expected.

I dated around for a while after four years of that I finally met my match. We met at a dance at the University of Utah and didn't leave each other's side the whole night. We dated for 11 months then he asked in December in front of the Salt Lake Temple. We've been married now four years, no kids. We've been working on adoption for the past year, but still waiting. We plan to foster, maybe do foster/adoption.

I don't work, basically have to keep myself stress free. I've been in and out of the hospital for the last four years, I've come a day away from passing on, but I'm a fighter and got through it.

Karen (Chesnut) Ford Joins the Marine Corps!

After we graduated I joined the Marine Corps and went to Boot Camp in Aug 1997. I graduated in November and after my schools I was stationed in Japan. I lived there for 15 months where I met my husband Michael-who is also a Marine. We left Japan in August 1999 and came to San Diego. We got married on Dec 3, 1999. On November 16, 2000 we had our first daughter Alixandra. I got out of the Marines and I stayed home with my daughter.

In June 2002 we moved to South Carolina where my husband was a Marine Corps Drill Instructor. On Aug 22, 2002, we had our second daughter Aja. In August 2005 we moved back to San Diego which is where we live now and my husband left for his first tour in Iraq (8 months). It is very hard to take care of the house and 2 little ones and not know when the next time you hear from your husband will be. But we made it and he came home in April 2006. He left again for his second tour in Iraq on March 12, 2007. Here we go again! He is "suppose" to come home in October-so we are keeping our fingers crossed there isn't an extension.

I have a job that I love working as a manager dealing with Corporate Property Management here in Diego. I love it but sometimes I wish I could stay home with my girls. But with my baby starting Kindergarten this year-and I am home before they get home from school-it doesn't make a lot of sense.

The military is moving us to Okinawa Japan in May of 2008 for 3 years. That will be a big change especially for the girls, but the military life is all I know as an adult so I really don't think I would do too well without it (Smile).

Wow how the 10 years has flown by. After high school I went up to USU where I only stayed a semester. Jeff asked me to marry him and from then on we we're inseperable. We got married Dec. 4th 1998 and Jeff continued to do concrete work with his Dad and brothers. I graduated from Cosmetology School in Sept. 2000 and am still doing hair today. We have lived in our Herriman home for 3 years. We love it out here. Jeff built a salon in our basement where I now am juggling work and play & raising our 3 beautiful children Taitem (4 1/2), Jett (2), and Boston our miracle baby (3 months). Jeff is working so hard for our family and has finally got his dream truck. We love going to look for deer as a family and who ever finds one gets $5 bucks. I also love seeing the girlies once a month, or every other in my case, but they are so wonderful and have made these ten years better than ever. It has been so great to see how the 10 years has been for all of you.

Josh Walden--The Body Building Engineer!

I have really enjoyed reading all the bios and seeing what everyone has been doing! It makes me wonder what I have been doing all this time? I guess I have just been working hard for 10 years so I can hopefully play for the next 10. We'll see. I got a couple of associates degrees after a great mission in Washington state. One was for a pre-med degree and the other an associates in engineering. I decided I'd think my way through school rather than memorize, so I got the bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering from the UofU. There I was the VP of the Chemical Engineer chapter, and captain of a team of engineers that designed a car that ran on only chemical reaction. Our car took 9th place in the nation in Austin TX.

I was working as a manager at a Home Depot during school, and after the engineering degree began working for an engineering firm in Salt Lake. After a year I went back to school and will finish my MBA in a couple months. I took the LSAT on a whim, and was ready to go for a JDMBA for patent law when I decided to buy out a portion of the company I worked for. I now own and operate a small engineering firm with about 10 employees at current. We design and build equipment to take sulfur out of the atmosphere, so basically I am a nerd! I guess for fun I have done some river rafting, wakeboarding, building race cars and houses, a bit of travel and a run or two at body building when I'm not broken or off a surgery of some sort!! Looking forward to moving on to the better things in life and to seeing all of you!

Trinity McDermaid--Engaged to be Married in Hawaii!

Hello fellow Lancers! After High School I attended the University of Utah where I worked toward a major in Exercise and Sport Science. My first year at the U I made the cheerleading squad and met a ton of great people. After cheering I applied to the Athletic Training Program and was one of 12 students that were excepted. During my 2 year internship in this program I worked with the Football team and Women's Soccer. As an Athletic Trainer I provided medical care to injured athletes, physical therapy, and assisted with injury prevention. I got to know the athletes very well and truly enjoyed working with them. I graduated from the U in 2001 and accepted a job with Don Joy Orthopedics as a medical device sales representative. I sold medical devices for 3 years before I decided to switch career paths. I currently work for TEKsystems, the nations leading technology execution company (sales pitch :) ) where I am an account manager/ sales representative.

In 2002 I met my fiancé, Lance Paulson. We have been dating for 5 years and recently became engaged. We plan to marry in Hawaii in May 2008. We have two lovely English Bulldogs, Daisy and Gus. ( I think they both hate me due to the picture that is attached). Lance was in the Cellular phone industry for 7 years and assisted in starting one of the most successful wireless retailers in Utah. After 7 years he too chose to switch career paths and recently joined the American Family Insurance team. He will be opening his own agency in January of 2008. Life has been fun and exciting since High School. I look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday night!

Eric & Tammy (Felman) Fontana Settle in Riverton!

I have to admit it… I am addicted to this website!! I love seeing everyone and hearing about what you’ve been up to for the last ten years. After graduation, Eric and I continued to date. I went to school at SLCC and then to SUU. I started working for Washington Mutual Bank as a teller, loan officer, and later a manager at the West Jordan office. Eric worked for a company called RSD for about 7 years until he was recruited by his current employer. He works for US Air Conditioning and is the manager for their Orem branch. He has been very successful and has grown a ton in this position. We got married Aug. 21, 2001 and bought our first home that same year.

Our lives changed forever on Dec. 27, 2003 when our daughter Adelyn was born. She was born 3 ½ months premature and weighed only 1 lb. 7 oz. She stayed at the U of U for a very long 3 months. It was the hardest thing that we have ever experienced but I guess it’s those things that make you stronger. She was a fighter and we were so happy to finally bring her home. She is such a miracle to us and is now a happy, healthy 3 year old. After her birth, I decided to stop working and become a full time mom. I couldn’t love my job more!! We decided that we had outgrown our house and moved into our current home in Riverton a couple of years ago.

Last year, on Aug. 30, 2007 we welcomed our son Kasen. He was a healthy 9 lbs. 13 oz. (who would have thought)! He is such a delight! I’ve never seen such a happy, smiley little boy. It was such a different experience from Addy and we were so thankful that there were no complications.

Between our kids, Eric’s job, and our real estate investments we have our hands full but still manage to have fun by going to the park, swimming, camping, playing co-ed softball, hanging out with friends and doing anything with our family. We love our life and can’t wait to see what the next ten years brings us.

Becca (Wallis) Selph--No More Fixer-Uppers!

I just have to say thanks to all of you who are putting this together. What a great idea to have this blog. You guys are fabulous. It’s so fun to see what everyone is up to.

After high school I went to SLCC for a semester and then on to USU. I really enjoyed Logan. I met Matt Selph there in the fall of 1999 and we were married March 11, 2000. We continued living in Logan while Matt completed his Masters degree. We had our first son Isaac in August of 2001. We bought our first house, an old 4-plex in downtown Salt Lake about a year after that. A few months later we moved to Puerto Rico. We were there for about 5 months. That was an adventure. We lived in an apartment right on the beach, and I was able to learn some Spanish. Even though I was on the beach everyday, I never got tan, go figure.

After that we moved back to Utah and bought a house in Sandy. We lived there for three years. While we were there we had our second son, Matthias, in March 2004. About a year ago we built a house in Lehi. In February we had our third little boy, Gideon. I really enjoy our new house, it is a great improvement from the “fixer-uppers” we’ve had in the past. The area is nice too. We live in a cul-de-sac and there are always friends for my kids to play with.

I love to travel. We have been to many places around the States, including Myrtle Beach, SC, which we visit often. Last October we went to Brazil (that was an awesome trip) and in March we went to Hawaii. We have also been to Mexico, Puerto Rico, and The Dominican Republic. In high school the furthest I had ever traveled was Seattle, it’s been eye opening to see other parts of the world and how other people live. I plan to visit many more places before I’m done.

I have had the opportunity to be a stay home mom ever since our first son was born. I love it. Isaac is almost 6 now and about to start kindergarten. Matthias is 3 and Gideon is 6 months. Having three little boys in one house can get pretty hectic, and there are times that they drive me crazy, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Matt is a wonderful man and a fabulous husband. I am the luckiest girl in the world because I have four cute guys who adore me!

Brian Poulsen Prepares for the D.A.T.!

The first five years consisted of a lot of dating, a lot of working and some college, taking a class here and a class there at Salt Lake Community College. I luckily stumbled upon my beautiful companion Rebecca Monique at the Mall. She worked at a shoe store and sold me some shoes. I met Rebecca about 3 years out of High School, we dated for about 2 years and eventually tied the knot in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple for time and all eternity. Since our Marriage five years ago we have had two children, Mckenzie (2 yrs) and Madison (10 mos). I received an Associates Degree from SLCC and am currently attending the University of Utah, taking necessary courses in preparation for the Dental Admissions Test. I have been working now for five years with Paramount Acceptance Corporation both full time as an Office Manager and recently stepped down working part time to focus more of my time to schooling. I am currently pursuing a career in Pediatric Dentistry. If all goes to plan, I should be in dental school within 1-2 years.

Firefighter Spicer!

Well after reading other peoples blogs I realized that I needed to extend mine. After high school I worked for a couple of different jobs before my mission including the ever popular Video Matic Group, a safety shoe retailer as the warehouse manager, and with a landscape/construction company. I of course attended some college at SLCC. I did not have a major in mind so I took a wide array of classes, unfortunately nothing tying together to aide in a degree.

In July of 1998 I headed off to the Guatemala Quetzaltenango mission. I had many life educating experiences during these two years and will never regret having made this decision. After my mission I returned home and continued to date the same girl that I had dated before leaving. Many people ask if Jennifer waited for me I tell them no I just got lucky she had not gotten married while I was gone.

After returning from the mission I worked at a couple of different jobs. The first was an account manager at Rent-A-Center, this only lasted about six weeks as I was tired of people lying to me about their delinquent accounts and making promises they would never keep. Plus after two years of serving people I just did not have it in me to go and repo their belongings. Next I moved onto a career closer to my now dream job as a Firefighter, I was a 911 telephone operator for the local 911 and emergency dispatch center (VECC). Six months after starting at VECC Jennifer and I were married on February 23, 2000.

During my time at VECC I decided that I needed to make some steps toward my goal of becoming Firefighter. I took a class to re-certify my EMT certification, and also sponsored myself through a Fire Academy that was sponsored by West Valley City. After receiving my firefighting education and certifications I started to test with many different agencies throughout the Salt Lake Valley. Also during my tenure at VECC Jennifer and I had our first two children Haylee (5) on April 5th 2002, and Shayla (4) July 8th 2003.

In the spring of 2003 I became a Volunteer / Reserve Firefighter for Sandy City. This was an un-paid position although it allowed me the opportunity to gain some much needed experience. After two and a half years of Volunteer Firefighting and many tests I received full time employment with Sandy City as a Firefighter in the fall of 2005. I continued and still am employed by VECC as a part time (Fire Dispatcher) basically I am on the other end of the two way radio giving the emergency units the details of their response, when I am not responding the call myself. I am also a part time Firefighter for Bluffdale City in the far south end of Salt Lake County. I also have a couple of other odd side jobs although nothing real exciting.

On October 19th of 2006 we had our third child and first son Anthony (A.J.) we currently live in West Valley City close to Centennial Park on 5600 west and 3100 south not far from where Jen and I grew up. This is our third house since being married (we hope to be in this one for a while). Life if very busy with work and the time spent with the family, but I am enjoying it and I am grateful for the decisions and experiences I have made and had over the past ten years.

Heather (Hardy) Cable--The Hair Stylist!

When we left Granger, I went to the college of Eastern Utah in Price for Cosmetology for about six whole months! Yea- I would not say the best six months either. Stephen made lots of trips to Price during that time. After short deliberation and not much persuasion from Stephen, I decided to transfer my credits to Hairitage College of Beauty in Murray to finish school and get my Cosmetology License.

After High School, Stephen continued working with his first love…cars. He worked at various car dealerships as detail manger and also salesman until shortly after Sept. 11, 2001 when the bottom fell out of the economy. After that he decided to join the family business and get his Real Estate License. This fall he will become a Broker Associate for GlenArbor Real Estate, Inc. Stephen has found that he loves real estate almost as much as cars. (It just means that cars are in his free time.) Stephen keeps busy assisting clients all day and by night buying and selling our own properties. We always have a property to fix and flip or rent. We keep hopping with all of our rental properties. We are on our third personal home and I tell Stephen I will not move again because I love our home and neighbors in WV- not to mention family. But we do take time out once in a while for a break to our favorite vacation spot, Hawaii, or take the kids to Disneyland and Sea World.

We married in the S.L. Temple on May 6, 1999 for all time and eternity to start our married lives together. Nathan Robert joined us in January of 2001. He is now 6 and will be starting first grade in a couple of weeks. I never thought anything so small could have so much energy as our Nathan, who never stops talking. He talks about everything and anything all day long. He will even direct the household and tell other people what they need to be saying also. He is a very deep thinker, very creative and smart.

Jessica Lynne was born about 3 years later in August 2004. Our little princess is such a girlie-girl insisting she always have her toes painted. But she can definitely hold her own with her brothers.
Andrew Warren joined our family September 2006 and will be having his first birthday soon! All he wants is to keep up with brother and sister. He was walking by 10 months and is currently into everything!

I have had a busy and eventful ten years. Right after high school I attended a couple of quarters at Southern Utah University before serving a mission in Bristol, England. I was able to put all of the years of English classes to good use. When I got home I continued my education at SUU and declared accounting as my major… I know, I don’t seem like an accountant. Luckily, I had cheerleading to break up the monotony (and pay for a lot of my schooling).

I also joined SUU’s ballroom dance company and stuck with it for four years. I competed in many competitions in couples and team divisions. I love to perform and I was able to perform all around Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, Alaska, Hawaii, Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, Germany, and the Czech Republic.

During my summers off I taught cheerleading camps for the United Spirit Association throughout the Western US. I remember going to these camps as a student and it was fun to be on the other side and pass on a week of grueling fun.

Since graduating with my Master’s degree in Accounting I have moved to San Diego to work in public accounting and currently work for College Loan Corporation as a finance accountant… I know, I still don’t seem like an accountant. So, to break up the monotony now I travel as a judge for cheerleading competitions. I’ve judged competitions in California, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Mexico, and Guatemala. As if I don’t do enough, I’ve become quite the tour guide to all of the friends and family who come to visit San Diego. If you’re ever in town I’ll be happy to show you around.

After graduation I continued working for ZCMI and the Video Matic Group (where I met my future husband.) In the fall I attended Salt Lake Community College and worked at ZCMI while dating my future husband. The winter semester I moved to Rexburg, ID and attended Ricks college. After that semester I transferred back to Salt Lake Community College while still dating my future husband who was in West Jordan. We continued dating while we worked and went to school. We were married on June 2, 1999. I finished my last semester at Salt Lake Community College and graduated in December 1999. We moved to Logan, Utah immediately afterwards so my husband could start that winter semester at Utah State University in Electrical Engineering. I worked and attended one semester while my husband finished his degree. We were there 3 1/2 years. We had our first child in March 2002, a little girl, Brooke, at which time I decided to stay home and raise a family. In March of 2004, we moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, where my husband worked for the Naval Reactor Facility. We had our second child a month after we moved into our home, a boy, Kaden. Two years later we decided to move back to Utah. My husband was offered a job at ATK in Promontory, Utah. We bought a home in Perry and moved in a month before we had our third baby, a boy, named Carter.

Sorry I've been so delinquent in any sort of response to reunion information. I have been working in Ohio for the summer and have been very busy. Just wanted to let you know I have been married to Desiree Steenblik for almost exactly 7 years now. West Lakers may remember her, but we didn't meet until a blind date in 1998. We have no children, but within the next year will have 5 college degrees between the two of us. I am currently working on a Master of Music degree in Voice. Desiree is finally going to finish a bachelor's in International Studies. I am very happy with my life and owe many of my successes to Mr. Butler and Mr. Christman for getting me going on the right paths.

I don't have access to any photos of me since I am writing this e-mail on somebody else's laptop in a hotel on the way home from my summer gig, but you can find some photos of me on my Myspace or Facebook accounts. I won't be around for the reunion, but hope all is well.

Dan Hastings Marries a Hottie!

In Jan. 1998 I left to serve a mission, where I lived in Concepcion, Chile and the surrounding areas thru Feb. 2000. I contracted mono while I was on my mission (it’s not what you think), so I put school off for a while after I got home. When I finally decided to get going with life again, I started up a wild social life (yeah, right).

One night in Aug. 2000, I went to a singles’ dance @ Trolley Square Mall, and met a hottie named Angie Taylor (from Taylorsville; booo!). We were married Aug. 15, 2001. Since then, life has been pretty much a blur, since Angie somehow got pregnant about four months later (oops). Emma Claire was born on Sept. 30, 2002. Since my wife had developed Celiac Disease after our first daughter, we waited a while to have our second; Hannah Eve was born on May 2, 2006. Our daughters are our life.

I have worked as a collections agent for Discover Card down in Sandy for the past five years. I get to keep up on my Spanish there, so I’ve been willing to stick it out until just recently. Now that I’m almost done with my BS in Accounting at the U, I’ll be moving on ASAP. I also just recently became a loan officer with a mortgage broker here in West Jordan (Cardinal Mortgage Services).

Jodi (Bodenhofer) Wickham--For Time and All Eternity!

We all know 10 years is not very long. Sometimes it feesl like yesterday. However time has happened and many changes have taken place. A few weeks before I graduated from Granger I met my husband to be Wayne Leslie Wickham. During the end of 1997 Wayne asked me to be his wife on Oct. 10, 1997. I knew then I would be the luckiest women alive for he would be mine forever. Wayne is the greatest at everything from basketball to golf. He is the funniest person I have ever met even-- funnier then me. He is so fast for being a 6'4, 300 lbs man. He could part the sea. If you were in his way look out the Volley ball would be in your face, and you on the ground. I love him so much. He surely loved me. I could see it in his eyes everyday. On June 12, 1998, I married my soul mate and, best friend forever in the Salt Lake Temple.
Unknowingly to us we were pregnant two weeks later.

Brody Wayne (8 1/2) was born Feb. 27, 1999--smart, sweet little boy who spoke like a five year old at two. A little like his mommy in personality. Two years later another sweet boy Devon Robert, (6 1/2) on Jan. 11, 2001--sweet little boy that knows what he wants and goes and gets it like his daddy. Our lives seemed complete. I worked for many companies in finance and management. I owned a few companies too. Wayne worked for a wonderful company who always has his back, Central office suppliers. Four years later we were expecting our 3rd child. A little girl Emarie Elizabeth on March 23, 2005 (2 1/2). The girliest and sweetest of all girls. I have met my perfect match to me. These kids are so sweet and so special to us. They are our light and truth that there is a Father who loves us and that it is not all in vain and is better then we can imagine. Our lives went on and we are so in love. We are the greatest friends ever.

On July 26, 2007 my husband passed away in his sleep. I woke up with this feeling that something was wrong but I was not afraid. It was familiar to me and in moments I learned it was my husband talking to me in spirit. His heart had stopped in his sleep and he was gone. Now life as I knew it could have ended there but it did not. My husband loved me so much that we made our love last forever. He let me know when I found him in the spirit that all would be well and this is only a small time on earth. It is not the end and I will see him again. He is always with me and lets me know I'm loved, always. I can't wait to see all of you guys. Wayne and I (mostly me) were talking and looking forward to this event. However he will be with me in spirit so if you feel a push, it's him (ha,ha). May God be with you and let your light so shine before men. For the Savior knows your heart and is always there even if you don't feel he is there. He was there for me in my most needed time and he will be there for you. Have a great day.

Julianne Homer Bellydances?

So, yeah. 10 years. Wow. So much has changed, and so much has remained the same. Well, here goes nothing. Right after graduation, I went to Dixie College where I'd been honored with a ¼ tuition academic scholarship. I enjoyed my time there studying business artistic communications, but I decided to cut it short. While I was there, I started my own bellydancing troupe and we began touring pretty regularly through the greater metropolis areas of southern Utah and northern Arizona. The duality got to be too much stress and I was forced to drop out of school in order to give my performing career a fair chance. I loved my time as a bellydancer, but the fast-paced world of show business got the better of me and after a few years on the road, I had to give it up and spend some time in rehab.

During the time that I was trying to clean up, I got married and moved into a polygamous commune up in northern Idaho. Merrell was very sweet and giving, but I found I needed more boundaries and control from a husband, so I left. Throughout this time I'd kept in touch with an old high school friend and former flame of mine (also a 1997 Granger Grad), Scott Steele. Our relationship had remained strong through the years and only got more intense as time wore on.

After having three gorgeous kids together, we finally decided to just jump in and tie the knot. He is definitely the love of my life, and I am exquisitely happy. We were married on Friday, the 13th of April, 2007. We are working vigorously to get things together and right in our life. At the moment we live in the basement of his father's house, and we feel very blessed to have a permanent address for a while. I'm back in an out-patient rehab, which is going great this time around. I have the awesome opportunity to work as an assistant manager at our local Arctic Circle. Scott is working as an oil mechanic at Sam's Club and also sells his hand-made hemp jewelry at farmers' markets and craft fairs around the state on the weekends. We are working hard together and expect to be able to get the kids out of state custody sometime in the next few months, hopefully before Christmas. Their foster mom has been really good for all of us.

I also hope to be able to start bellydancing again as soon as I can drop the extra hundred pounds I've gained as I've fought with addiction. As a part of our "life renovation," we've also had the excellent opportunity to start our own small business. We are currently fulfilling our dreams as well as those of our friends and neighbors as Amway representatives. We are able to offer many valuable and worthwhile household products and cosmetics that are Earth-friendly and made in the United States by organic farmhands. If you are interested in purchasing any of these products or, even better, becoming a representative yourself, please, please, please feel free to contact us. We'd love to talk to you about what we offer. As far as the reunion goes, we'd love to come, but my current probation restrictions don't allow me to cross county lines. Still, life is good and we couldn't be happier with our life. Mostly.

DeEsta (Gailey) Peterson Marries a Dermatologist!

Many wonderful things have happened over the years. To start off, I attended Ricks College for 2 years. I then received my mission call to the Ohio Cleveland Mission, what a joy & life changing experience it was to serve. I returned home from my mission to Puerto Rico where my family had moved. They had become close friends with Mike & Nichole Peterson who had moved there with the military. Mike insisted that I needed to meet is brother Chad when I got back to Utah.

Chad and I dated for a couple months before I left to attend school at Utah State. After a semester there, with Chad and I continuing to travel back & forth from Logan to Spanish Fork to see each other, we were delighted to get married on April 17, 2003. We then moved to Kingman, Arizona where he would finish his medical training. (I think I came in to the picture at the perfect time, he was done with medical school & just had his internship and residency left to finish!).

We have since been blessed with our first child, Cameron, who will be 2 years old in October. He is truly the joy of our lives! He definitely keeps us busy & on our toes. Chad will finish his Dermatology residency in July 2008 upon which we will relocate and join a practice with his Dad in Spanish Fork, Utah. We have enjoyed being away and on our own, being involved in our community, church and place of work here in Arizona. On the other hand, we are very exited to move back “home” to be close to family, friends, and the familiar surroundings of Utah!

Amanda (Mecham) Erb--A Familiar Blind Date!

I went to Southern Utah University right after high school and graduated 4 years later. I had the opportunity to go to England, Ireland and Scotland the summer of 2000 with some college friends. (Technically I was there for school, but I only took one class so I could have fun). My last year of college I was set up on a blind date with Kyle and we found out we knew each other from school. We were married in the fall of 2001 after I graduated. We now have 2 beautiful (if I say so myself) children. Kaden was born in December of 2003 and McKayla was born in June of 2006. They both have so much energy, we sometimes wonder how we keep up. I am currently working full time at ADP, and helping my husband with our rental properties and his investing business.

Justin Busby--A Concert Proposal!

For the last Ten years I have been doing what I think we all have been doing, trying to make a place for myself in this vast world. For fun I enjoy Las Vegas, outdoors and concerts. I make a pilgrimage to Las Vegas at least once a year to support Nevada’s economy. I go camping, bike riding and huntin’ as much as time permits and I go to as many concerts as the budget will allow.
My wife and I knew each other for years before we got married or even dated. We dated for close to three years and I asked her to marry me at Country Jam ‘05, on stage with Montgomery Gentry in front of 15,000 people. About a year later found out that she was pregnant and been busy being a father since.

I am currently employed at Officemax as a Production shift supervisor. I have been there for a little over eight years. I have been to Phoenix, Chicago and Jonesboro, Arkansas for work. I love to travel for the company, ( all paid expenses).

Remember Paul Jensen? Think Sir Lancer...!

This is such a great opportunity to fill in and get caught up on the class of '97. I hope every one is happy, successful and wealthy. I have been progressing as of late and will summarize the past 10 years in a few paragraphs.

Shortly after graduation, I fulfilled an LDS mission to Seattle, Washington. I love that area and hope to live in that area again someday soon. I would say my mission was a success and returned home to marry Alyssa Barker one year later. As she finished up school at BYU I completed a program that got me hired on with the 2002 Winter Olympic Broadcasting Crew at the Soldier Hollow events. While it was an amazing experience and I learned a great deal, I realized that that was not the industry for me. I then received my associates from UVSC in Orem, Utah. I then transferred to the University of Utah and received my bachelors degree in communication with an emphasis in public relations in December of 2005. Through out most of this time I was a sales manager for an HVAC store front and started raising a small family with Alyssa. Chamberlain Paul was born in November of 2002 and Savill Ester was born March of 2005. We are currently expecting a third child to be born on September 4th, 2007 and plan on naming her Naomi Myrle. There is no doubt that my family is my greatest source of happiness and they constantly remind me of how great life is.

Our children really keep us busy and Alyssa is doing a great job of raising them as tend to work a lot. Chamberlain is a sponge for knowledge and loves anything to do with dinosaurs, crocodilians and Star Wars. Savill is a very girly girl and still manages to lay a little hurt on her older brother. She loves swimming and all sorts of activities that allow her to use her very strong set of lungs, allowing her to reach some very high pitched screams. Other that that, we find ways to stay very busy with life in general.

I am currently working in promotions and managing a portion of the worlds largest promotional campaign, working with WalMart and various name brands in the food industry. I anticipate occupational changes occurring in the near future and hope to put my schooling to greater use. We recently bought a home in Sandy, Utah and are loving life as a growing family.

I am always eager to hear how everyone is doing and expect to see many of the class of '97 making headlines or making history. I am so grateful to have been associated with such a fine group of people and will cherish my time in your presence. (another picture coming soon!)

Sherice (Brown) Angell Returns to the WVC!

After graduation I moved to Price, Utah and went to the College of Eastern Utah for one year. It was a lot of fun but I had to move home because I had to have jaw surgery. After I recovered from that I went to work at Chili’s Restaurant. I started there in 1998 as a hostess and soon became a trainer and went out of state to open new restaurants. It was SO fun! In 2001 I became a bartender and stopped going out of state. While working at Chili’s in 2003 I met my soon to be husband, Steve. He was a police officer for the West Valley City. Him and some of his police buddies would come and eat there every night (they would get half off their meal). A lot of meals later we finally had our first date. We got married November 13,2004.

We have 4 children between the two of us. He had two from a pervious marriage, a boy Spencer 11 and Shannen 9. I had one child from a pervious relationship, a boy Jarren 7 and we have one together, William 3. We bought a new house in a quiet neighborhood in West Valley and love where we live.
In 2004 I left Chili’s and started working for Marriott Vacation Club. After working there for 2 years I left to work for the Utah State Courts as a court clerk, I loved that job! Currently I am a Real Estate Agent and I work with Ulrich Realtors. I work on a team with Joann Spencer’s husband. It is hard work but I really enjoy it. I’m sure I will be doing this for some time.

My husband retired from the police force in June of this year after 11 years of service to join me in the Real Estate field. We love working together! I love being married and having children. We have tons of fun as a family.We love to go to Moab every year for the Jeep Safari, camping anytime we have a free weekend and to Little Sahara (sand dunes) to go 4-wheeling.

Aubrey (Thomsen ) Aguirre--"Way, Way, Way Beautiful!"

I can't believe how fast time flies, and it is so good to hear from so many of you! I've been up to a lot over the past 10 yrs, including getting married, starting a family, and becoming a registered nurse. Here's the skinny on my last 10 yrs:

After High School, I attended SLCC. I was on the College Leadership Council, and also a Cheerleader (We took 3rd at nationals!). During my 1st year there, I started dating the Student Body President of SLCC. I got to know him better as we traveled together on road trips, etc, and 2 years later Sim and I were married. I finished my Associate degree, and became a Certified Medical Assistant and Radiology Tech for a Family Practice office.

In May of 2002, our handsome boy Sim Jr. came to the family. He is the cutest, smartest 5yr old, and has a heart of gold, and his dad's olive skin! Our gorgeous diva girl Oaklie came just 2 1/2 yrs later. If you have never seen a 2 yr old with a french pedicure, come to our house! Despite the fact that she is 2 going on 16, she is the sweetest little girl, and tells me every day that I am "way, way, way beautiful!"

Last year I finished nursing school (talk about grueling!!). I graduated with straight A's and high honors on a nursing department scholarship, and passed my RN licensure test with flying colors. After graduating, I got a great job at Primary Children's Hospital on the surgical floor. I worked there part-time for several months, but every time I walked through the door, I wondered why I was there taking care of these children, when mine were at home. I decided to put the hospital on hold for a few years to raise my little darlings.

During nursing school, I was offered a teaching job at SLCC. I have been an instructor there for 3 years now. I teach Clinical Pathology, and Medical Terminology classes for the Health Science division just 4 hours a week at the Community College, and I am home with the kids the rest of the week. My husband Sim has a wonderful job at Staker/Parson Companies. He is the Senior Network Exchange Engineer/Administrator for all the Rocky Mountain states, and his company takes good care of us.

In our spare time, my husband and I help fund micro credit banks and education programs for impoverished nations. We currently have a bank, and several education programs in El Salvador, and another bank in the works. It is so awesome to see how just a few people here can help so many people in El Salvador become educated and financial independent. Our hope is that we can help others around the world to have a taste of what we have here.

I have been blessed with so much! My sweet husband, 2 darling kiddos, and a beautiful home! Not to mention I still see my best friends once a month (Aja, Kacee, Steph, Krissi, Kelli, Amanda, Sharane, Emily, and occasionally Wendy). I hope to see more of you around. I didn't realize how much I missed all my high school friends until all this reunion stuff. Please say hi at the reunion! Even if it has been 10 years. I am so proud of all the class of '97 has accomplished. Who would have thought we'd all turn out so good, huh! Hope the next 10 years is good to you all!!

Jonathan Kirk-- Too Much To Believe!

I have done a lot that I hope I can sum up... it follows a random flow of thought, so I hope there's some coherency here. I've magnified my love of words into a lexicon of verbosity. I haven't traveled out of Utah or Idaho very much, but I have traveled within my self, within my mind. I have worked on knowing myself & discovered many interesting & delightful things. I have gone from believing in God to being an atheist to finding another God who (both) suit my tastes better.

I have gotten into mindless debt, paid it off, & gotten into more debt of worthier reasons. But, school loans suck. I left high school for Snow College... I was a music major there... stage fright got the better of me... I then dropped out for a few years. When I started my college studies again in 2002, I pursued Latin at U of Utah, after which I attended 1 year at SLCC where I decided to pursue a French Major, taking French & Japanese. I then transferred to Idaho State U... I studied Latin (once again, because I gotta keep it up or lose it), Russian, Ancient Greek, German, Spanish (ever try to do a semester of work in 4 weeks? It was intense.), Eald Englisc (with a guided reading group, I read all 3,000 lines of Beowulf: "Hwæt! We Gardena in geardagum,/þeodcyninga, þrym gefrunon,/hu ða æþelingas ellen fremedon./Oft Scyld Scefing sceaþena þreatum," )... I attempted Old Icelandic... but that only lasted for a summer...

I won a scholarship to study in France from Pi Delta Phi, c'est-à-dire, the French National Honors Society... it helps to have an academic advisor who is your chapter's advisor and who is also the vice-president of the national organisation. Sometimes it's not a bad thing to be at a 3rd rate, backwater university. I was impressed with the rail system in France. When I was there, I discovered excellent coffee, wine, cheese, & bread! My host family had a "father" who was only 7 years older than me & 2 host "sisters". The 9 year old made fun of my exact French that I had worked so hard on. Do you pronounce every consonant when you speak English?

I sang in the ISU Concert Choir 2 different years... a year ago, I sang with them in an excellent concert hall, a surprising & blessed addition to little Pocatello, a town of 60,000 . Our director demanded the best from us... we grappled with literature that professional groups tend to do... each rehearsal was a physical, psychological workout... I was known by the name Longlocks by those in my Beowulf group, but I have since donated that hair to Locks of Love. I graduated from ISU with a BA in French, minoring in Linguistics. I'm glad I attended college, because I don't think that I would've learned about linguistics... I still study & read a lot... with interests ranging in religion, language, linguistics... I expect if I am to find a wife, I will have to change my modus operandi.

I have gotten to know my grandfather a lot better; he has been my religious mentor... funny thing, since my parents divorce during my 1st year of college, I found other "parents", counselors who have helped my cultivate a desire for a love of life, a love of God, a love of self. I count 3 mothers & 3 fathers in my life: my biological parents (of course)... Cathy (Scott's mom), Sahmiel (my grandfather & Patriarch), Mahaleenah (my Matriarch), & Azrael (my spiritual Teacher).

I have traveled a little on the political road... I left high school being conservative (without really thinking about issues) to espousing the far left, to returning to a conservative-just-right-of-center position, to abandoning the whole thing altogether... I voted for the Green Party my 1st election... I didn't get to vote in the last presidential election, because I forgot to file for an absentee ballot for Utah (I wanted to vote in the Utah governor race)... & didn't register in Idaho.

I have stopped being a rabid, nationalistic Canadian... I have grown to deeply admire the Constitution of the United States & the Declaration of Independence... I am now less interested in whether I'm Canadian or American... I am a citizen of God's Country, being a "...sojourner from afar, walking through a native land in which [I am] a stranger."

I was a vegetarian for 8 years of the last decade, but have only returned to omnivore-hood fairly recently. I have discovered wonderful films, like V for Vendetta & Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain . I haven't gotten an ipod yet, though I have broadened my CD collection with wonderful music with the likes of Yann TIERSEN... I have thinned my collection, getting rid of dark music that I once had need of. I have just recently bought the excellent CD Maudite Moisson, a Québécois group called Le Vent du Nord.

I have started cultivating a love of writing... beginning this endeavour with a poem to God about my feelings resulting from the attacks on 11 September 2001... in bad French--I hadn't had any classes in years... I have written haiku (they're pretty easy) & have gone on to the harder sonnets... I've written 4 so far: 1 for a girl who took a break up with her boyfriend bad, 1 for a woman who needed a life saver from the woes of life that were drowning her, & 2 for a girl I liked. A lot of what I have written was for this same girl I adore. Unfortunately, things turned a little bad between us 8 months back & I haven't wanted to write since... Shannon Fallis Helps Rebecca!

Wow, you guys are getting old!!! My first big accomplishment happened right after I finished High School. I invented Post It Notes. haha! That's for all of you Romey and Michelle fans out there!

Right after high school, I went to Salt Lake Community College and graduated with a degree in General Studies. During that time, I worked for Girl Scouts of Utah as an outreach program leader. I helped write programs and run activities for children attending "high risk" schools. During the summers, I would head up to Lilliwaup, Washington where I worked at Camp Robbinswold. I got to spend my time hiking, singing, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, riding horses, backpacking, swimming, and dying my hair bright orange! Where else but summer camp can you get away with such things? (and one time, at Girl Scout Camp....)

After my third summer as a Unit Leader at camp, I decided I needed a "real job." I was kind of interested in recreation management so I applied to work at local community centers. I was hired to work at the Jewish Community Center teaching preschool (ya think? Preschool, me?) Well, I just knew it would be a short lived job (I gave myself 6 months tops) and 5 years later I was still teaching and loving every minute of it. It's been fun to watch "my kids" grow up! My first class ever is now going into 5th grade.

During that time, I met a lot of cool families and started house sitting, babysitting, and nannying. One day, a woman approached me about babysitting her granddaughter (2yrs old) who was in Primary Children's Hospital due to a serious head injury during a family camping trip. I started helping relieve some family stress by hanging with Rebecca in her hospital room while her parents/grandparents took a much needed break.

When Rebecca got all better, I continued helping her family with babysitting and housesitting. During that time, Rebecca was diagnosed with PDD a brain disorder on the autism spectrum. Her family was very proactive in testing out all the therapies they could find to help Rebecca be successful. I was lucky to be a part of this, I was trained on the programs they were interested in and was able to help Rebecca with her therapy. I got to explore many different career options Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, ABA Therapy, etc. It was a great learning experience!

I had been teaching preschool and helping her family for a long time, and I decided it was time to go back to school. After a long time of trying to decide what to do, I enrolled at the Universtiy of Utah and was going to start taking classes to become a speech therapist. I had to decide what to do for employment so when Rebecca was required to have a full time aide help in her first grade classroom I jumped at the opportunity! I quit my job as a preschool teacher and moved from preschool at the JCC to first grade at The McGillis School. This past year, I was attending school in the evenings and working full time at the McGillis School. I loved every minute of working in a first grade classroom. I started thinking "should I change my major?" Yes, I did, 3 times actually! I went from speech to Occupational Therapy (I'd still love to do this, but the cadavier lab FREAKS me out!!!), and now I am going into Human Development seeking a child life specialist certification.

So, I have to go off for a minute and let you all know what child life is. A child life specialist is the person who is there to help the chidlren get out emotions, frustrations, thoughts, feelings, energy, etc while they are staying in the hospital. No, it's not a therapist. No, It's not a doctor or nurse. A child life specialist plays with children while they talk out their problems, etc. They are the activity people in the hospital. Ok, I just had to explain, cuz most people don't know what it is.

As many of you have learned with your own kids, children grow up. Now my life is taking another serious turn, and I am no longer going to be helping Rebecca. She has been doing so well lately, they are not going to need me anymore. I am super sad, but also very happy to know how much I have helped this child (and how much she has taught me!!!!) Since Rebecca didn't need me anymore, I got a job nannying for the summer. I have spent this summer hanging at the pool, playing lego's and building teepee's out of sheets and blankets (did you ever do that as a kid?) at the same time looking for a job. Since I am attending school full time, and I am soooo close to graduating, I have the worst school schedule ever! Finding a job that would work with my school schedule was difficult. But with the help of some great parents (of my kids) and friends, I got a job as a rehab aide at an elderly care center. So I am once again in for some big changes, but I am looking forward to the challenges that are soon to come.

It's been an experience growing up and getting old! haha! But i've loved every minute of it! I regret not keeping in contact with more people, but I look forward to seeing you all soon. Unfortunately, I am not able to attend the evening event, but I hope many of you will be there with your families. I am bringing Shaun's daughter, Victoria, because he will be working! Jeff Spotten--Mr. Handy!

Well just after high school I served a mission in the Canada Toronto West Mission, And shortly upon arriving home met my wife, Sharee (Evans) at the singles ward. We dated and were married in Nov. of 1999. We had our first child Madison Ann in Jan. of 2001.

In the fall of 2001 we moved to Phoenix, Az. where I went through flight school. While in school our second child Clayten Lee was born in September of 2002. After I graduated I instructed for about a year. We then decided it was time to make our way back to Salt Lake, so in October of 2004 we made the move. I started a Buisness in 2005 called Mr. Handy that involves remodeling homes, (I had been doing this type of work for a while and only thought it was the right move) and that along with Installing wood flooring for R C Willey keeps me pretty busy these days.

We purchased a HUD home when we arrived back in West Valley and have also been having fun rebuilding that and plan to sell in the spring after our third child is born in Feb. 2008. The future is a little uncertain as the airlines are comming back to where they were before September 11, and alot of pressure to get back in the air by friends from school! So we are excited to see what transpires.

Becky (Wadsworth) Heiner's Poopy Diaper Degree!

Hi everyone! It has been so great to read about all of you and yourwonderful lives. It is exciting to see what life has brought to everyone and I decided to join in on the fun. After graduation I attended SLCC, worked at an elementary school as a Title One aide, and taught dance. I always kind of regretted my decision not to go away to college, but was grateful a year later when I was still around to meet the love of my life!

Ryan (another Granger alumni from 95') and I met at the homecoming of a mutual friend in December of 98'. I admit I was reluctant to go out with him as I feared we would have nothing in common. Luckily I accepted and discovered we had a lot more in common than I had thought and learned that sometimes opposites really do attract. We were married May of 99' and it has proved to be the best decision I have ever made!

For the next 2 years we worked and went to school. Ryan continued to pursue his lifelong goal of becoming a firefighter. He was hired on the West Jordan Fire Department 2 days before I found out we were expecting our first child. Recently he attended paramedic school and is now a firefighter/paramedic for West Jordan. He has a rain gutter business on the side and is very busy, but happy. Ryan and I bought a home in West Valley (close to our families) and have 2 little girls that I am blessed to stay home with. Savannah is 5 and Olivia is 3 and they bring so much joy to my life!

I am currently continuing my degree in "Poopy Diapers" as I have once again sacrificed my body to the pregnancy Gods. We are expecting yet another girl in early October! I am huge and Hot (but not in the good way) and am looking forward to the fall! I am hoping to pursue my life long dream of opening my own dance studio within the next 2 years. Our life is simple but we are all disgustingly happy and really couldn't ask for more. I wish you all 10 more years of happiness and success!!

Wendy (Wariner) Arlint- Love At First Sight!

Right after high school I could not wait to go to college at Utah State University. There I met the man of my dreams and fell in love at first sight. Tyler Arlint and I were in married in June 0f 1999 and were blessed with our first baby girl a year later.

My husband is a professional photographer and a musician. He began taking pictures during college and apprenticed with a photographer in Logan, Utah. I graduated from Utah State with a Bachelor in Science and stayed home with my little girl. We later moved to Tyler's home town of Saint Ignatius, Montana, which is on the Flathead Indian Reservation. There is a population of 1,000 people and there is plenty of open land...so come join us! We had our second daughter Ella in Montana, and have been here since 2002.

My husband and I have many interests that we enjoy doing together. We have made a CD together and we sing for many different occasions such as: weddings, funerals, parties, and fund raisers. We love making music together and have enjoyed sharing our talents with people around us. We have a website that contains our pictures and music at http://www.tyarlint.com/ Some of our unique picture experiences have been:Miss Montana, Mr. Montana (in the Cosmo, Nov. 2006 issue), New York Weddings, and some interesting Montana weddings with knives and shotguns and drunken bridesmaids. My husband thought it would be nice to work in the winter months and so he is currently working on his music education degree. I am working on my masters in elementary education and will be finished this December. I am extremely excitedto almost be done!

We just bought a couple of acres of land and we will be building our own home starting this month. Tyler has built many times before but never for himself. He is an excellent carpenter. We are really excited to start this new adventure. Property in Montana is beautiful and many people like to live here due to the hunting, fishing, and the slower paced life that Montana has to offer.

I currently work for an after school program and have been there for four years. I am a director for the after school activities. I love working with the children in the school and am really happy to provide them with a safe place to be after school. Many of the children at the school have rough home lives and they are often talking about their parents serving time or how they are alone. There are many children who enjoy coming there and it is a safe place for them to be for a while.

The last 10 years have been wonderful, and I am looking forward to the next 10 years. I love life, my family, people around me, hiking, fishing, laughing, living.

I then transferred to Southern Utah University where I graduated with a Bachelors in Theatre Arts & a Minor in Marketing back in 2002. I have spent the last five years working full time for the Utah Shakespearean Festival, the last two as their Company Manager. I have had the opportunity to travel a great deal around the country, and love spending time with my adorable husband Ryan.

Kimberly (Arrington) Brown Falls in Love at the Sink!

It has been so much fun reading about everyone and what they have been up to for the past 10 years. I thought that I would jump on the band wagon and tell you all a bit about what I have been doing.

After graduation I attended Snow College where I had some of the funnest times of my life and met some really amazing people. One of them being my sweet husband, Kevin Brown. He was a basketball player at Snow and we met through mutual friends. He was at my house with a group of people for dinner where he did the dishes with me and I fell in love! We have been doing dishes together ever since. Some people go on trips and do fancy things but dishes do the trick for us! :) He is 6'5'' and I am still a short 5'2'' so we are quite a sight, but we are happy. We dated for two years and then we married in July of 99.

We attended SUU for the next two years. Kevin graduated with a degree in Business Management and I graduated with a degree in Elementary Ed. I taught 6th graders in Layton Utah and learned to love those almost teenagers, a large feat I assure you. I taught school untill I had my first son Dawson and that sealed the deal on my stay at home mom fate, which I LOVE. I had Gaven 11 months later, yes I know I know, and Madelyn came 2 1/2 years later. I had to get over the shock of having the first two so close together!

We moved from Layton to Wyoming and we now have a beautiful home in St. George. We love it here and have fun every day in the sunshine and the swimming pool. My oldest is going to Kindergarten in a few days. I am a little nervous about this, I must admit, but he tells me that he will be fine, while rolling his eyes at me. Time sure does fly. Other than taking care of kids, which is an adventure, I love to scrapbook, go to movies, jog, laugh, gab, create, smile, decorate, read almost anything I can get my hands on and I am still in search of the magic wand that, with the flick of a wrist, will keep my busy house clean all of the time. I am so happy and blessed. It has been a great ten years.

I just want to say thank you to all of the people that made my high school time so meaningful and fun. Meeting people like you has become an increasingly rare occurrence. I meet a few great people everywhere I go,but never so many in one place as there was in High School. I hope all of you are enjoying life as much as I am. Sending my best to all!

Jared Graham the Triplet Producing Man!

I served a mission in the Chile Santiago East Mission. Went to SLCC for two semesters. I met Laura at an Institute Activity in-between semesters. We got married 6 months later. After our first year of marriage I joined the Air Force.

While stationed in Biloxi, Ms Laura got pregnant with triplets. She went into preterm labor at 24 weeks gestation during Hurricane Dennis. Tyson was 1lb 8oz-12 1/4in, Preston was 1lb 6oz-12in, and Landon was 1lb 8oz-12in. Preston, our sweet angel, quickly returned to our Father above on his second day of life.

Tyson and Landon have had several surgeries all over the country including a stay in the New Orleans Children Hospital during Hurricane Katrina. Our children are our joy in this crazy life and they make it all worth. I’m currently going to WSU seeking a nursing degree in hopes to become a commissioned officer in the Air Force. Andy McDermott--Abandoned!

After graduation I have to admit I wasn't totally committed to college. I still needed to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up. So I worked and took a few classes from SLCC for about a year. I then went on a church mission to Guayaquil, Ecuador. When I returned, I immediately went into a panic of having too much free time. So I jumped at the first job that came my way, a call center job at Comm Comm (now Teleperformance), thinking that it would be something to help me earn money to pay for school, nothing more. Now back from my mission, I took education more seriously and tried to take as many classes as possible while working a full time job. (To those of you who were able to work full time and take on a full time schedule at school, I salute you!) I received my Associate degree in Business from SLCC and went on to graduate from the University of Utah in accounting in 2005. And the job that I thought was going to be temporary ended up being much more long term. I had an opportunity to begin working in the accounting department just after Teleperformance bought the assets of Comm Comm. I worked in Accounts Payable for a while and now I am working as a Financial Analyst. The month after I graduated from the U, I met Nicole through some mutual friends at a U of U football game. We dated for a few months and were married in May 2006. Nicole teaches junior high band and orchestra in Granite School District. She had decided to enroll in a masters program through Columbia University which entailed a month stint in Manhattan for 3 consecutive years. She of course decided to start this program a few months before we met. So, one month after we were married, Nicole packed her bags and left me to bachelorhood for a month. She abandoned me again this year, but I am glad to say Nicole just returned from her last term at Columbia. I now have a greater appreciation for all those men and women who have to leave their spouses for months at a time to serve in the military. As a final tidbit of info, I decided to go back for an MBA (I must beglutton for punishment) and will start this fall. I will be attending Utah State's part time program at their Salt Lake extension.

David Pulsipher--Balding But Beautiful!

I was somewhat reluctant to post a picture on myself due to my ever-growing forehead, however Kenny's post below has helped to ease much of that apprehension... (just kidding, Kenny).

After high school I spent a quarter at Snow College before embarking on a two-year LDS mission to Puerto Rico. Upon returning from Puerto Rico I attended the University of Utah (no surprise!) where I graduated in May 2003 with a Bachelor Degree in Speech Communication and a minor in Spanish.

It was during this time that I met my beautiful wife Lindsay who, after months of persuasion, finally agreed to go on a date with me. After dating for about a year and a half, we were married in the Salt Lake Temple in July 2002. Upon graduating, I decided to continue going to school and graduated with an MBA from the University of Utah in May 2005. To this day, I still do not know how we survived while we were both in graduate school and working 20 hours/week. Despite the sacrifice, we are very grateful to have devoted that time to lay the foundation for our lives.

Having more free time on our hands after graduating, we had our first and only child, Ryan, in August 2006 (he was a pea pod for Halloween, if you can't tell). Notwithstanding the time consumed in school and work, we have been blessed with several opportunities to travel during our five years of marriage. Our travels include Mexico, Puerto Rico, Thailand, Vietnam, Hawaii, Ohio for the 2006 Ohio State (#1) - Michigan (#2) football game, and, of course, Tempe, Arizona for the 2005 Fiesta Bowl. We look forward to going back to the Carribean in January 2008 for a cruise.

After graduating from college for the last time, we bought a house in South Jordan and I have worked as an auditor for the Utah State Legislature. Lindsay has put her career interests on hold in order to stay at home with Ryan, something for which I am very grateful.

Angela (Meyer) Vahlberg--Blessed To Be A Mother!

In the last ten years I have not accomplished as much as wanted but I met my husband (Timothy) in October right out of high school. We worked together at Red Robin. I was a hostess and he was a cook. We dated for a year and a half and got married July 17 1999. My husband now works as a service advisor at Ken Garff West Valley, he loves cars and anything that has to do with big lifted big tire vehicles. Then July 30, 2000 I had my beautiful daughter Kylee (7) who is my shy one. She does not like to have attention drawn to her but she loves to dress up and be pretty and absolutely loves anything Bratz. Then September 12, 2002 I had my handsome son Braden (5). He is my little daredevil and will do pretty much anything but absolutely loves video game machines.

What a blessing to be a mom. They have taught me so much and I don’t know what I would do without them. I got my Certified Nursing Assistant certificate and did some home health care, working with pediatrics which is my dream to become a pediatrics nurse. I now work in home health as a customer service manager. I love it and love the people I work with. I plan on going back to school to work towards my nursing degree.
